anonymouscuban > Day #54 - Our Pugs Get Life Vests

Our pugs are unusual in the sense that they love going in the pool. I think this is due to our lab being their surrogate mother. Problem is they aren't the best swimmers. A couple of weeks ago our little girl Potato, pictured, fell in the pool and went down about 3 feet. I had to jump in to pull her out. These vests should make it much safer for them to be around the pool.

anonymouscuban > Day #52 - Boxer

It's been a while. Been busy with life. I got a new lens so I've been playing around with it. I shot another series of self-portraits. I'm a huge boxing fan so I decided to shoot a a "Boxing" series. I will post a few of these shots, starting with this one. I shot this with my new lens, a Nikkor 28-70 f/2.8D IF-ED. My D300 set on the tripod with a 3-sec timer. Lighting was provided from a single SB-600 speedlight. Camera was on AF, set to Manual mode. I triggered the shot using a remote cable release. B&W conversion was then done LR2.
anonymouscuban > Day #51 - Agony

Not sure what I was thinking about when I made this face but this is what I look like when I'm about to cry. Again, used the same post technique as the last two daily photos I posted. This post technique is not for the vain... really emphasizes all of your flaws!!
anonymouscuban > Day #50 - Angry me

This is a side not many people have ever seen, and those that have, did not live tell anyone.

Just kidding... this is a self portrait I took make a stupid face. I then did some heavy process work to in PhotoShop to give it the dark look seen in Dragan's photography.
anonymouscuban > Day #49 - Just Me

I have been playing around lately with a post processing technique in CS3. I have taken a series of self portraits which I will be processing using this technique and posting during the days to come. It's a rather harsh and dark method of processing so I don't want anyone getting mad at me for maybe them look really bad.

This is the first... a somewhat normal picture of myself. I applied the technique here but its much more toned down that some of the others. Comments are welcome since I am still learning this technique. This shot was taken with my SB-600 flash triggered remotely, which I placed about 3 feet in front of me and slightly to my right. I had the room lights dimmed. Camera was on a tripod and remotely triggered.
anonymouscuban > Day #48 - Paris Hotel, Las Vegas

I took a trip to Las Vegas recently with my coworkers as a team building event. A few of us were able to sneak away to take in the sites along the Strip. I was able to grab a few keeper shots along the way. This is one of them taken from the sidewalk in front of the Paris Hotel & Casino.
anonymouscuban > Day #47 - Sunny Days To Come

Tired of the railroad tracks yet? This is the last in the series of R&R HDR shots. Not sure how I feel about this one. I like how the sky is beginning to clear in the top right and the sun breaking through the clouds. I also like how tracks curve right out of the image. Not sure about the angle of the tracks in the foreground. My cameras was level when I shot this but I don't remember the tracks having such a steep bank when I was there. Maybe lens distortion since I was shooting with an ultra-wide angle.
anonymouscuban > Day #46 - Bluebird Railway

This is another HDR from the same series as yesterday's daily photo. I took this at the same stretch of track, just facing the opposite direction, away from the storm clouds.
anonymouscuban > Day #45 - Railway to Hell (HDR)

I took this shot shortly after a rain storm that roll through our area on Sunday. The clouds look very ominous. I like the really dark feel they give the scene.
anonymouscuban > Day #44 - I can see my house from here!

Telescope high above Hollywood Blvd. We just had some rain storms so we had some nice clouds in the sky. That's downtown Los Angeles way off in the horizon.
anonymouscuban > Day #43 - Garden Resident

This guy (or gal) was roaming around in my Gazanias in the morning. I decided to take this shot because I thought the contrast between his brown shell and the green blades in the background was cool. I shot this with my camera's built in flash in commander mode and triggered my SB-600 speedlight remotely, which I was holding in my left hand just above the snail.

anonymouscuban > Day #41 - New Horizons

Sailboat heading towards Channel Islands off the coast of Ventura, California. Wish I was on that boat right now!!
anonymouscuban > Day #40 - Tracks

I took this last night from the side of Topanga Canyon Road. This is an HDR made from three separate exposures taken at -2EV, 0EV, and +2EV. Came out better than I thought it would when I was photographing the scene.
